Most skincare routines fail for one reason: they’re too complicated to keep up with. Here’s a simple structure that works for any skin type.
- Cleanse, morning and night. This is the one step nothing else works without — pick a cleanser suited to your skin type and don’t skip it.
- Treat, based on what your skin needs. A serum for hydration, brightening, or targeted concerns goes on clean skin, before moisturiser.
- Moisturise, always. Even oily skin needs it — skipping moisturiser often makes oil production worse, not better.
- Protect, every single morning. SPF is the step with the biggest long-term payoff, rain or shine.
You don’t need ten steps — you need the right three or four, done consistently.
Add extras like exfoliants or masks once or twice a week if your skin tolerates them — but the four steps above, done daily, will outperform a shelf full of products used occasionally.
